Never Spent a Single Satoshi? Really?

I’ve been running nodes for ages, over 10 years now, and never spent a single Satoshi. Sure, I bought some coins, but most of my stash is from faucets and selling expired domain names. And yeah, I’ve got like $40 locked in a wallet I forgot the password to. Need to find time to recover that one.

If you’re looking to claim forked coins, check out LoyceV’s guide here. Noticed it hasn’t been updated since 2022, probably because there’s not much to change.

Just found my blockchain copy, goes back to 2017. I’m guessing it covers most of the forked coins. Pretty cool, right?

Crazy to think you've been in Bitcoin this long without sending any coins. Respect! If you're consolidating, you should look at ways to save on transaction fees, especially if you have a bunch of small inputs.

Haha, I feel you. I tend to collect too much stuff too. Got a garage full of randoms and like a dozen bikes. Definitely should sell some on eBay. Wish they accepted Bitcoin though. Just stumbled upon some external hard drives with my wallet data. Gonna check what's on them.

Gotta give it to you, running nodes for a decade is no joke. You’ve shown some serious discipline. And yeah, moving coins between wallets won’t get you taxed.

LoyceV’s got the right steps for claiming those forked coins. But honestly, a lot of those forks are pretty useless and harder to sell as time goes on.

You nailed it. Running a node and holding coins for that long shows real patience. And replay protection is definitely something to keep an eye on.

Mad respect for holding without spending. In a world of traders, your stance is refreshing.

It’s wild how some people hold Bitcoin for years without touching it, even when it skyrockets. Look where you're at, though!

With that long of a hold, you’ve probably built up a decent stash. Maybe explore ways to use Bitcoin laws in other countries for some benefits?

Seems like you’re aiming for a specific Bitcoin amount before selling. Just remember your seed phrase; we’ve seen too many lose access to their assets.

What’s the motivation to spend now? Prices aren’t exactly high. Maybe wait a bit longer unless cash is tight?

I’m thinking it’s time to get into the commercial side of Bitcoin. Spreading coins across wallets is a good way to keep things secure.

I like testing by recreating addresses on a secure Linux system. Easier from a seed phrase than a core wallet.

It’s time to consider how to spend those sats. Might not be the best price point, but using Bitcoin is key.

You’ve shown a lot of patience through the ups and downs. Not even touching your coins during all-time highs is impressive!

What you mean is the BTC price won’t skyrocket like before. Now’s the time to start using those coins.

You’re not in the Netherlands paying taxes on unrealized profits, right? What are you concerned about tax-wise?
