Need Help with an Old Wallet’s Master Key

So guys, I found this old master key for a Bitcoin wallet from 2013. Not really good with this vintage stuff, it used to be with schildback.wallet. Got all the GitHub data but totally lost on how to decrypt and check it.

Dude, can you clarify what you got? 1) Is it a master private key starting with "xprv..."? 2) A.wallet file? 3) Individual private keys starting with 5, K, or L? If it’s "xprv...", must be a BIP32 wallet. You can either use Electrum to import or check out that BIP39 tool. Just input the master key and see if it works.

Wait, what do you mean by digging up an old master key? Are you talking about the actual password for the wallet app? If you’re on about Schildbach Wallet, backups are encrypted with a user password. Is that what you mean? And if you set a PIN for extra security, you’ll need Bitcoinj to decrypt that wallet file to get your private keys.

I had an old Schildbach backup too and it was a nightmare to recover. Found a Reddit thread with a Python script that decrypted it, along with the password I knew. Managed to get my seed phrase back and imported it into Electrum. Might help you too!

Honestly, if you have the password for your "schildback.wallet", it’d be much easier. Just import it directly into the app. You can find it on F-Droid, still available. For decryption, there's a guide from Schildbach that you can follow. Check their GitHub.
