Hey everyone!
Trying to find a spot here to discuss investing in mining. Looking for insights on setups, expenses, and the overall biz side of things.
My questions are about the financial setup:
1. Anyone done solar for BTC mining? Is it worth the infrastructure costs? We might go 65% nuclear, 35% solar.
2. What's the electricity cost like in other mining spots worldwide?
Mining Opportunities in UAE with Affordable Energy

I've always thought mining works better in cooler climates.
UAE is super hot, especially in summer. How do you manage that?
$0.0299/kWh sounds crazy good though. Almost 4x cheaper than the US and China, where it's around 10 cents. Might be some deals out there for better rates, but still.
Yeah totally, northern hemisphere for mining makes sense.
In the UAE, we've got cooled containers and immersion cooling. It’s hot and sandy, so we need to protect the machines. Plus, that electricity price is attractive, and we’re eyeing bigger mining farms, like projects up to 500MW.
We’ve got smaller solar setups, too!
Running a 110kW, a 45kW, and trying to get a 500kW array going.
Different countries have different rules and incentives. You seem to have solid funding already. My take? Prioritize 5% to 10% solar, just to show you’re going green. It might pull in eco-friendly investors.
Right now, our 110+45 are only a part of our mining; the majority is still oil, coal, gas.

Kinda off-topic, but funny how nuclear gets lumped with oil and coal as non-renewable.
Nuclear gives off way less CO2. Sure, it's risky, but it beats burning fossil fuels. The carbon footprint isn't far from renewables, as I saw on this site.
True, but when people hear "nuclear" they freak out, thinking of Chernobyl.
Government ain't helping with the education either; they'd rather evacuate than inform.

Yeah and that HBO show didn’t help either. This video I found breaks it down well:

DonnyDubai, props for mining in the blazing UAE!
Mind sharing how you cool your rigs? That’s super interesting!

You might’ve missed it, but he shared that info a few posts back!
Nah, it’s probably not him. I know folks in UAE, and not many are named Donny.
Honestly, I think this could be a scam. Not saying how I came to that conclusion, but trust me, I’ve got reasons. If you think of investing, please check in person. At least that’ll lower the risk of getting scammed.
Hey Donny,
Read your post about the rate you mentioned $0.02pp per kWh.
Checked DEWA’s tariffs, and their upper industrial rate over 10,001 kWh is set at 38 fils (10.3 cents). The more you use, the more you’re charged.
Hey!
Sounds interesting, I’ll reach out soon!
We are looking at Beeminer Hive setups, but we’re open to other options. Even thought about a custom cooling setup for 40ft containers.
Depending on how much investors want to chip in, we might build warehouses instead of using containers.
Yeah, the DEWA pricing is right.
But special entities usually grab better rates depending on their licenses. Happy to share more if anyone's interested, but it’s kind of confidential info.
