Anyone remember Luckycoin from way back? Founded in 2013, it was one of the first altcoins after Bitcoin, and it actually inspired the creation of Dogecoin. Luckycoin had a unique PoW setup that rewarded miners randomly. Thought it was dead for a while, but recently the community has apparently revived it.

+1, I just checked and it looks like the announcement thread hasn’t been updated in ages. Feels like the classic fake revival to me.

Yeah, it could be one of those coins that just faded out. I mean, how many times have we seen these fake revivals or forks? No real activity from them, just empty promises.

But look, it’s still listed on exchanges since 2013, right? That says something! Just be cautious if you're thinking about investing. Those huge pumps and dumps can be risky.

Totally agree, but I’m curious too. If it’s been around this long and people are trying to bring it back, it could be worth a look... but yeah, investing in a coin that has tanked is a gamble.

So I dug around a bit and found that the current site isn’t even the original Luckycoin. Apparently, it’s been hijacked and forked from an old block. The real one was doing fine back in 2018.

Yeah, I saw the announcement about it being "revived" in 2024. But I would be careful. Just because it’s back doesn’t mean it’s a great investment. It did have its moments, but I doubt it’ll attract much interest now.
