Hey everyone, I'm new here and looking to learn more about crypto stuff. I recently got laid off and I'm helping a friend with a project involving some unique material. Now I've got a lot of free time, so I thought I'd check this forum out! Is there a beginner thread about mining hardware or something to get started?

Honestly, if you're thinking about mining for profit, you'll need some cash to play with. There’s a lot involved. If you're starting from scratch, you'd ideally want cheap electricity, like around 2 to 6 cents per kWh. Getting an Antminer S9 could work well; if you can run it for a couple of months, you might break even if things go your way. Just be prepared to spend at least $500 for the miner and keep your fingers crossed that the power supply holds up.

Hey there, I’ve thought about getting into mining too, back when it seemed super profitable. But now it feels like a lot of folks have backed off from it. I’m not really sure why, but it seems like the profitability isn’t as great as it used to be. Anyone else feel the same way?
