Hey guys,
I’m looking for some thoughts on the Bitmain S17 Pro 53Th.
I’ve got a chance to grab five of these units, seller claims they’re functioning fine. They’ve been in use for 14 months with the original software.
Not seeing much feedback on them around here... if anyone has insights, that’d be awesome.

S17 Pro’s probably the most reliable from that Bitmain *17 lineup for sure.
You can tweak the speed based on what you need.
Thanks for the info 😉
True, but let’s be real. It’s only called reliable compared to other junk models. If you look outside the 17 series, the S17 Pro isn’t that impressive. Seriously, steer clear of the 17 series. They break down often, and since this one has been running for over a year, issues are likely around the corner.
If you can find Avalon or MicroBT, even at a bit more, I’d say go for it.
Thanks for your input! I had no clue MicroBT and Canaan were better than Bitmain. Appreciate it 😉
What’s the asking price for those S17s?
5 at 2k each? That’s 10k.
5 at 4k each? That’d be 20k.
I’d take the five for 10k myself. The S17 Pro 53Th is the best among the S17s.
I’ve got 17 of them since 2019 1 with a good board, 2 with two, and 14 that run fine. Just lost one PSU.
So yeah, I think they’re decent.
The seller wants $8k for all five, or $2k each.
Been searching a lot, and honestly, Bitmain units are way easier to find than MicroBT or Avalon.
I’m struggling to even spot anything beyond Bitmain. Thanks for your feedback 😉
I’D SNAG THAT DEAL.
Assuming the seller sends them intact. Make sure they work before you pay!
Maybe look into using escrow or something.
Thanks for your advice.
Yes, the seller wants crypto for payment. Any escrow service you’d recommend? I’m not too familiar with how that works.
Where’s this guy based? Sounds sketchy. Those prices are way too low. The cheapest I saw this gear was 3k when BTC dipped to 31k for a bit. Now, it’s around 3.3k to 3.5k if you’re looking at China rates.
If someone offers you a 3k miner for 1.8k, be extra cautious. Look at legit sellers here like grace, Scott, and kaboomrack. Even if you don’t buy from them, check their prices.
Hey,
I’m trying to be super cautious about this. The seller seemed legit, had invoices and gave me the chance to test the units. I was waiting on cash from selling some S9s to get these, but he sold them all quick!
Honestly thought it was a good deal. I’ll compare with those other sellers you mentioned.
Thanks!
