Is There Any Initiative for Bitcoin Code Verification?

Hey, is there any push for verifying the Bitcoin core code or other versions like btc knots and bitcoin in Go? Maybe we could use AI models like Claude, Fable, or Mythos to help out. I get that the code is massive and this won't be a walk in the park, but it seems possible. Could we have some private checks first? I wonder if any big investors would chip in for this verification somehow.

For sure, there are groups that back Bitcoin developers. They’ve been doing it for years, so I'd guess someone is working on this already. Who knows? Maybe there's an independent team using AI to check for exploits like that recent issue in zcash. But yeah, bugs in Bitcoin are pretty rare since proposals take a long time to roll out.

I haven’t heard about any initiative like that. Did a quick search on here and also checked opensats.org, but didn't find anything relevant. Is that project by the US government still on hold? Just to add, the person who found that critical zcash vulnerability is a security consultant and they’re paid by shielded labs. So bringing in human experts plus AI is definitely gonna cost way more than a few bucks.

Yeah, Fable is currently suspended, but it should be back. Opus 4.8 is an alternative, but for now, Fable and Mythos are the best options. I totally agree it’ll cost money, but there are grants available. Way better to invest in this than wait for someone to find a hard-to-spot exploit. Some bugs have lingered for ages before Mythos caught them. Just thinking about the potential risk for BTC if something major slips through.
