Pakistan's Finance Minister says the crypto ban is to get off the FATF grey list. But honestly, does anyone believe that's the only reason? They're waiting for an IMF bailout, and we all know the IMF isn't a fan of crypto lol.
Is Pakistan Really Banning Crypto for Good?

Interesting theory. So the IMF is pulling the strings, huh? I always thought they were somewhat pro-crypto, but now I see the angle. They don't want competition, for sure.
Legislation usually caters to what the people want. If enough citizens want to use bitcoin, I think the government will have no choice but to adapt. But I feel like Pakistan will take ages to regulate crypto.

Where's that coming from? The Federal Reserve Act? Don't get me started on how the government responds to citizens' interests. Plenty of times, policies are all about the elites. Just look at China.
Exactly. The bankers have controlled everything for years. They create these systems like the Federal Reserve to ensure their grip on power. Politicians are just puppets.
You think all politicians are in it for the people? Nah, they're mostly just out to fill their pockets. People want freedom in finance, but the government's always gonna want to control that.
But don’t forget, Pakistan might not be the last to regulate crypto. A lot of countries are still tied to the IMF, and they seem to be playing ball with these regulations.
True, but there's a lot of crypto fans in Pakistan. Waqar Zaka and others are fighting for it, but the politicians don’t care. They won’t listen to anyone that doesn’t serve their interests.
Right? Like, why are they focusing on banning crypto when Pakistan has bigger issues? Unemployment is through the roof! Banning crypto just seems ridiculous right now.

I wonder if the ban's really about crypto or if it’s a cover for other issues. Maybe they want to avoid complicating things with groups using the financial system for shady stuff.

Yeah, enforcement will be a nightmare. You can't just shut down crypto trading completely. It’ll be like trying to ban it in China people will find ways.

For sure. If someone really wants to trade Bitcoin, they will find a way. They're not going to stop just because of a ban. It'll just make things riskier for the average person.
Exactly! Business always finds a way. Look at how things are in Russia! There’s always a workaround, like working with decentralized exchanges.

But what about the ordinary joe? If they make crypto illegal, they’ll just be in the dark, struggling to deal with that world. It’s not like people are just gonna stop.
+1. If the rules change, people will adapt. They’ll probably just move to countries that are more lenient with crypto.

Or they could even use VPNs and P2P trading. That’s what the Chinese do. If people want it, they’ll get it.
But don’t you think if they crack down hard, people will just give up using it? It’ll create a fear atmosphere.
Yeah maybe, but that’s not gonna stop everyone. Just need to look at how determined people are to access crypto no matter what.
Speaking of bans, I read a wild theory Pakistani arms sales to the U.S. were part of the deal for the IMF bailout. What a tangled web.
Lol! That’s some serious conspiracy stuff. But it wouldn’t surprise me if there's a hidden agenda behind it all.
