Hey everyone I'm about to set up a big server for crypto mining. Is it legal in Europe, especially in Germany or France? I found some companies selling Bitcoin VPS, but I’ve heard you can’t actually mine on those. What’s the deal?

Mining crypto in Germany or France is totally fine. Those VPS companies let you buy with Bitcoin but don’t allow mining. It doesn't matter how powerful your server is, you can't really mine Bitcoin on any standard computer. You could try mining altcoins, but that’s a different discussion.

Adding to what Biffa said, you can check out which countries are more chill with BTC by looking at articles on the legality of Bitcoin. Even if your server is huge, really think about the math before diving into Bitcoin mining. Profit might take a while to see, and if your electricity costs are high, you might wanna reconsider this whole thing.

A massive server won't help with mining Bitcoin. A current ASIC miner blows away a CPU by millions of times and is way faster than a GPU too. Not worth it, honestly.
