Bitcoin was made for peer-to-peer transactions, not for tokens or contracts. It’s practically turned into digital gold. BRC-20 is messing with the network stability that took years to build. This is important for Bitcoin's value.
Is BRC-20 a Threat to Bitcoin's Integrity

Totally get what you mean. BTC was meant for direct currency transactions, plain and simple. Anything else just complicates it! There are plenty of other chains that can handle tokens and smart contracts.
No way of going back now. Taproot's already in place, and we’ve got to roll with it. Instead, developers should focus on lowering transaction fees. Miners are all for the high fees right now, so they're not gonna support anything that cuts into their profits.
Developers are debating on this here: should we ditch non-standard Taproot transactions from full nodes? Honestly, I think they should go... but how do you solve it? Bigger block sizes? Look at BCH their transactions are tanking.
Fees are way more reasonable now compared to April 2021, even if we're seeing a surge in daily transactions. Lots of traffic could pull in new miners and help with the block confirmations. We haven't seen big firms join yet, but the hashrate remains stable.
Speeding up block confirmations ain’t gonna happen. Those difficulty adjustments are a killer. More miners just mean higher hashrate, and after every 2016 blocks, boom, difficulty adjustment kicks in.

I used to think more miners would ease congestion. But turns out I was wrong! It’s not just about processing; it’s also network factors like block sizes and overall bandwidth. More miners might help distribute the workload, but speed? Not so much.
Absolutely, BRC-20 is a problem! It opens up channels for abuse by bad actors who can spam the network. This really messes things up for regular users trying to use Bitcoin for cash transactions. We need financial transactions, not just nonsense.
As a miner, high fees are awesome 😎. But we gotta see if they’re gonna crush the support at 25k. If we crash, it could be a sweet buy opportunity. Plus, high fees shouldn’t scare true BTC believers.
You're kinda off here. Bitcoin does allow for smart contracts every transaction is technically a contract just not tokens. Even if Bitcoin could handle huge blocks, it wouldn’t tolerate spam.
From what I read, devs agree it's a big issue but probably won’t do anything serious. It’s up to us to create Layer 2 solutions to make it better for users. Oh, and seeing ETH folks complaining is kinda funny.
Fees were insane in 2017 too. Everyone talked about increasing the block size then, but look where that took BCH! The pressure on devs to change things always leads to bad outcomes.
For sure, if BTC holders panic and beg for dev help, then maybe BTC deserves to drop. It’s a time for holding, not whining.

Not worried about BRC-20. It’s not sustainable for attackers and profitable for miners. If it fails, it might come back in another form. Scammers are attracted to unregulated areas, and right now it’s a separate market.

Bitcoin's white paper is about being a peer-to-peer cash system. If it’s used as anything other than cash, it risks losing value. We need to take ordinals off to keep it true to its purpose.
Forget hodlers, they don’t seem too bothered by fees. But for everyday transactions, those high fees aren’t gonna cut it. Bitcoin was meant to eliminate middlemen and keep costs low.

BRC-20 is interesting for sharing art on Bitcoin, but at what cost? Filling the blockchain with junk? That’s not what Bitcoin was meant for. High fees will drive users away.
Only time will tell how sustainable this whole BRC-20 thing is. But it’s clear it needs to go! If that means rolling back Taproot, I’m all for it. Just hoping this is a fad that will fade!

BTC’s got its uses globally, but art isn’t one of them. It should be used for peer-to-peer transactions. When bloating occurs, it becomes a problem. BTC is valuable for what it does best.
This whole situation is tricky, and not sure I see a middle ground. BRC-20 clearly isn't adding the value many think it does.
