Looks like BTC dominance is on the decline... and we all know what that could mean, right? Altcoin Season might just be creeping in! 🌊
After a long stretch of Bitcoin steering the ship, signs show that money might be flowing into altcoins again. Check this out:
🔹 BTC Dominance has dropped below key support levels.
🔹 ETH/BTC is gaining momentum again, a classic early indicator of altcoins on the rise.
🔹 Memecoins, L2 tokens, and DeFi projects are already popping off with some serious gains.
🔹 Crypto Twitter is buzzing with excitement!
What was the percentage drop from? 62.8% isn’t a big fall at all. Plus, Ethereum dropped to 7% dominance but is back at 9.16%. It had a good run before Bitcoin peaked too.
But honestly, I don't see any signs of an altcoin season.
Totally get what you're saying. I was surprised too when I saw the dominance dip first. I was about to break down the numbers myself until I spotted hugeblack's post.
Always good to do some digging before jumping into discussions. The recent bull run and all-time highs might just explain BTC's dominant status too.
Nah, altseason isn't here yet. It'll kick off once Bitcoin tops later this year. Sure, some altcoins could go 10x or more, but it's not happening right now. Patience is key, and we gotta watch Bitcoin to figure out when Altseason will actually start.
People always assume that a drop in BTC dominance signals the start of alt season. But who really knows? Right now, I think folks are focused more on developments in Bitcoin.
For those wanting to keep track, CMC has an altcoin season meter... could check that daily.
There's no solid definition for altseason, really. Typically, it's when altcoins as a whole rise against Bitcoin, meaning a drop in BTC dominance. But that doesn’t mean every altcoin will soar like Ethereum or Solana so you can't just rely on that.
If you’re gonna share data, show us what you got. It’s rare that BTC dominance falls to 50%, and while I’ve seen some people post charts, facts matter more than speculation.
We’re really in the dark about all this. Maybe we’re there, maybe not. The key is to be cautious; you can lose big when you’re just trying to figure out the timing. When BTC drops a bit and altcoins are green, that doesn’t guarantee alt season is here.
Every other day someone pops up saying this same thing and honestly, it gets old. If you keep making predictions, one’s bound to be right eventually luck has a role too.
But right now? No signs of this happening.
-2% drop isn’t “falling fast” at all. That’s a stretch. BTC dominance is just retesting some resistance. Remember a few months back? Everyone thought altcoin season was coming, but then BTC dominance surged and crushed the altcoins.
Not sure why the OP is so hyped. Changes in market dominance can feel big, but looking at the larger picture, Bitcoin is hitting new highs while altcoins still lag far behind their previous peaks.
Just a heads up the recent spikes in meme coins, L2 tokens, and DeFi aren’t really rallies. It’s more like recovering after a massive drop. Sure, they’ll rise, but it’s just bouncing back.
Whoever wrote this must be using outdated info. Ethereum did pump a little while back, but since then, Bitcoin's hit new highs and has outperformed altcoins overall. BTC dominance may dip a bit now and then, but it bounces back quickly, meaning altseason is still off the table.
You’re spot on. The chart shows just how much Bitcoin dominates over altcoins and memecoins. Honestly, anything above 40% feels too high to me. We’ll see what happens, but from where I’m standing, I doubt we’ll see an alt season in this bull run.
Altcoin season? Not yet. This drop in BTC dominance feels temporary. New altcoins are popping up, grabbing some of Bitcoin's market share. But existing altcoins? They’re still not recovering like they should. Bitcoin reached $75k, while altcoins still struggle to hit their previous highs.
A slight drop in Bitcoin's dominance doesn’t mean much. The altcoin season index is still at 37/100. My altcoin investments are just starting to show a bit of life, but I doubt we’re anywhere near an actual altcoin season. If this is what an alt season looks like, I’m not impressed.
