Hey all,
I'm facing a serious issue with HitBTC. I was charged an inactivity fee I never heard of when I signed up. Now I've lost over half of my BitCore BTX coins because they blocked withdrawals. What a mess!
You know exchanges have their own rules, right? Bet you didn’t read the TOS before clicking ‘agree’. It sucks, but you probably agreed to this unknowingly.
HitBTC has a terrible reputation. Users have been avoiding it for years. They’ve always had high fees, and a lot of us saw this coming. Sounds like they’re getting desperate for cash.
I get that HitBTC has had issues with withdrawals, but have you reached out to their support? Just a heads up, getting your funds back might be a long shot.
1. Exchanges have terms for a reason.
2. Users also bear some responsibility.
If you’re leaving assets unattended on an exchange, it's risky, especially with hacking and delisting.
But seriously, they should’ve informed us about these fees when they changed the rules. When I signed up, there was no mention of inactivity fees. This feels like stealing!
Thanks for the support, guys! I've already contacted their support, but they’re leaving me on read. I’ll take your suggestion and post about it where you said. I want my coins back! They were mine, and now I can’t even withdraw them!
Hold on, I think you might be mistaken. I read the TOS too, and there was no mention of these fees when I signed up. Not informing users about updates is messed up.
Ugh, I hate defending HitBTC, but inactivity fees were introduced a couple of years ago. If you just got charged now, those rules were in place when you registered.
I can relate. It sounds like they’ve blocked your account without telling you why. Usually, exchanges give alerts if they suspect any suspicious activity. It’s frustrating.
Definitely, you probably glossed over those details in the TOS. These legal battles are tough. If it’s not a huge amount, sometimes it’s just better to cut your losses.
You should really post this in the Scam Accusations section, if you think it’s that serious. But did you even check if they stated these fees before signing up?
They added the inactivity fee back in 2021, so if you signed up after that and didn’t notice, you’re a bit out of luck. BTX is also being suspended due to low trading volume.
I created my account long before these fees showed up. I’m not backing down. This is a lot of money for me, and I want others to know so they don’t get scammed too!
This thread probably belongs somewhere else. Just saying, but yeah, HitBTC has been shady for a while. I stopped using them ages ago because of their practices.
It's rough, but always keep an eye on updates from exchanges. "Not your keys, not your coins" is the motto. They can take your coins whenever they want.
Honestly, I didn’t think people still used HitBTC. They’ve got such a sketchy history. I remember them listing coins without proper checks, taking advantage of projects.
As others said, they’re just following their own rules. But usually, exchanges give you a heads up; the fact they disabled withdrawals without notice is alarming.
