I saw some sci-fi stuff about powering Earth this way, but it’s actually happening now. Crazy, right? Caltech scientists are capturing solar energy in space and sending it down. Pretty wild to think about.

Sounds awesome! Clean energy for forever. Who wouldn’t want that? 20 tons of pure power for years to come!

Haha right... the old is new again. They were talking about this decades ago. But with all the drama over low power RF from cell towers, do they really think beaming megawatts from space is gonna fly? Public opinion will go nuts.

I get your point. But with the costs of getting stuff into orbit, how long until this becomes affordable compared to energy we make here? And honestly, who’s really against this? Seems like the anti-5G crowd is small.

Safety for people or nature though? Governments struggle to convince folks that anything old is safe. Look at Germany bringing back coal plants. I mean, really?

This does sound promising, but the tech takes ages to go from idea to reality... Needs big bucks and support from tech giants like Musk. I bet Europe will hop on this first, they’re all in for clean energy.
