Getting Started with Running a Node

Hey folks, after 8 years in the Bitcoin game, I finally wanna set up a NODE. Been thinking about it for a while... ready to dive in.

Nice! What hardware are you considering? I’d say SSD is a must, especially if you wanna avoid a pruned node.

For sure, SSD helps a lot... but don't forget about RAM too. I’d recommend at least 2GB.

1TB is okay for pruned nodes, but if you're going full, better grab 2TB to be safe.

Just checked... downloading the full blockchain could take days with my internet.

Lol, yeah. If you hit peak hours, it could take even longer. Sync it at night for sure.

Anyone tried running a node on a Chromebook? Thinking of getting one with decent specs.

I wouldn’t recommend a Chromebook. A mini PC is a better play, more power and flexibility.

But Chromebooks can run Linux, right? That’s gotta count for something.

What about VPS? Renting one seems cheaper than setting up at home.
