You know, in my country a lot of parents think their kids are the key to their future. They have kids without being prepared financially and just hope these kids will eventually be their ticket to wealth. But is this why so many people end up worse off? Kids are a real blessing but man, they're expensive. Is it fair to put that kind of pressure on them?

Here we go again. Didn't we just have a similar discussion? What's your angle? Trying to stir the pot? I think this topic needs to be locked.
Seriously, this thinking is so common among people stuck in poverty. They keep having kids hoping one might strike it rich and pull them out of their mess. They don’t consider that those same kids could end up in trouble themselves. It’s like an endless cycle of hardship. Smart parents plan how many kids they can actually support and give them a good life.
That’s definitely a traditional way of thinking in many Asian cultures. They believe kids are gonna lift them out of poverty one day. But honestly, that’s just unfair to the kids, who end up with that burden. Parents need to be responsible, raise kids without expecting them to support the family.
It’s like back in the day when kids were seen as free labor on farms. Those days are long gone, but some people still cling to that mentality. It’s kind of sad actually. Even families in remote areas are working hard to give their kids a decent future instead of relying on them to do labor.
Agreed, it gets messy when parents rely on kids to fix their own financial issues. It's way too much pressure on those kids. Ideally, parents should build that financial foundation first. That way, kids can grow up without feeling like they have to carry the weight of the world on their shoulders.

Absolutely right. Some parents pop out kids without any thought to their financial state. Procreation is a natural instinct, sure, but it’s irresponsible to have kids when you can’t support them. Even with some countries limiting how many kids people can have, it doesn’t guarantee those kids will be financial heroes.

Japan is facing a huge population decline, and you're spot on: kids aren't a burden to the economy. It’s the people without kids who end up being the real burden. A lot of childless folks struggle when they get old and have no one to care for them.
Exactly, people are waking up to the idea that having a lot of kids isn’t the norm anymore. With all the info out there and access to contraception, folks are realizing they can’t just pop out more kids and hope for the best.
Yeah, a big population can put a strain on resources, but it can also boost industry and military strength. Just look at Japan and China trying to reverse their low birth rate policies. It’s like a ticking time bomb.
I hear people say they want a bunch of kids so they won’t be alone when they’re older. Or they think having kids will improve their financial situation. It’s all a gamble with life though.
Not everything goes according to plan. But honestly, people should prepare for the financial reality of raising a child. It’s a huge responsibility, and parents need to ensure they’re set up to support their kids.
Yeah, totally. In my country, many have kids assuming they’ll support them financially without thinking of the bigger picture. Kids are a blessing, but bringing them into a world where they can’t be cared for is just irresponsible.

Expecting kids to become wealthy to support their parents makes zero sense. It’s on parents to invest in their children’s futures. In my experience, having kids just because you want them is the right reason.
This is what keeps the gap between the rich and the poor growing. Poor people think their kids will magically turn into wealth generators. It’s nuts. Quality education is key if you want your kids to stand a chance.

Spot on. It’s about giving kids the tools they need to thrive. Parents need to focus on education and life skills so their kids don’t end up being a burden on society.
Yes! Planning for your kids is key. Just throwing them into the world without a solid foundation is unfair. Hope is nice, but it’s not enough. You’ve got to have a plan.
I heard a quote once: "Blessings don’t bring children, it’s blessings that come from raising children well." So if you can’t train your kids properly, don’t have them. It just leads to more poverty.
Right, it feels like a burden to the state too. The costs of raising a kid today are way higher than a few decades ago. Families used to manage with one income and three kids, now both parents work and barely manage with one.

That mentality of having kids just so they can help later? It’s wild. Sure, children are blessings, but they should also continue the family line, not just be a safety net.
