I think we should break down our spending into five main categories. 1. Necessary stuff like bills, food, and housing. Can't live without these. 2. Emergency fund. You never know when something unexpected happens, especially with medical costs.

Agreed. Money needs to work for you; just saving won’t cut it with inflation eating away at it.
