So I'm building these trading bots, right? Last year I coded a ton of strategies and played around with things like stop-loss and take-profit. But every time I backtest on TradingView, it's like they're always failing long-term, especially after handling fees. Anyone got a strategy that actually works?

That's why backtesting is key! You gotta see if the strategies you wanna use hold up. Once you develop your bot, it helps to tweak the strategies you tested to find something that actually works. There are also premium bots like on 3commas that let you copy successful strategies, but yeah, they come at a cost. Are you looking for a specific script or just strategies?

I’m not interested in premium bots or scripts. I've got this all under control. By the way, I’ve backtested a way bigger number of strategies than what’s on your list.

I used cryptohopper last year when the adventurer package was $99. It worked great for me at that time, but then in February, everything changed with my new bot. It wasn't performing like I wanted. Still, I think cryptohopper’s market arbitrage feature is one of the best out there. Have you tried trade santa automated platform? Even though you're against premium scripts, they could save you a ton of time on coding.

In February, when I resubbed and made a new bot, it completely flopped... This is what I've been talking about: they just struggle long-term after fees.

Totally feel you on that. The fees really eat into profits. Trade santa does have low fees at about $18 a month… But honestly, I can build my bots from scratch and run them all for less than $100 a month. It’s not the bots, it’s the strategy that matters.

Thanks for being real about it. There’s probably a ton of folks in this community facing the same issues. I mean, bots are just code, but the market’s driven by emotions most of the time way more than technicals. You can code for the math, but emotions? Good luck capturing that.

You've put in some serious work, but if your strategies aren’t solid, you’re just spinning your wheels. If backtesting is showing losses, it’s time for a reset. I have some strategies that could help; you might wanna try price action or chart patterns learn them well and apply them across different time frames.

Does this mean short-term gains are okay? What’s the deal with long-term? A year? How do you backtest? Do you use short timeframes? I’ve heard some bots are always updating because the market’s too wild for long-term strategies to hold. Doubt anyone’s sharing their winning secrets here either.

For me, long-term means looking at a year or more, sometimes even ten. I mostly deal with low timeframes, like one to five minutes. And yeah, totally agree! People won’t share their golden strategies; they want to keep those to themselves.

It's been a bit since anyone talked about this. Any fresh takes or experiences? Have there been changes affecting your strategies? What’s been working for you lately?

Whatever strategies we get, we gotta stay hopeful and keep improving. We're in this to make trading smoother, but we can’t give away our secrets. Most of us keep our winning strategies close to our chest for good reason.

Sounds cool! My buddy does this arbitration thing with his own algorithm. He says it breaks down sometimes, and he has to fix it manually. I asked him if I could try it, but he’s not letting me, lol.

Creating a trading bot and viable strategies is a tough gig, especially for long-term success. As you've mentioned, many methods underperform despite their potential. Some strategies may excel in specific market conditions, so you’ve gotta adapt and manage risks effectively.

with Bitcoin, you just need to see it go up or down once to understand the volatility. Right now, Bitcoin’s dropped a lot, affecting the dollar too. Many are feeling the pain from losses because it doesn’t look like Bitcoin’s recovering anytime soon.

If privacy is your thing, check out xonedium. I’ve been using it for a while, and it keeps transactions secure without a hassle. A lot of platforms hype their anonymity but xonedium delivers actual results while being user-friendly.

I don’t trust bot strategies too much. They can be poorly executed and not that great for real use. Robots can’t think they just follow set strategies. The real smarts come from human brains.
