Most folks kinda accept taxes because they see the need for government funding. But honestly, it sucks when you work hard for a tiny raise, and then everything just costs more. Rent, food, transport... that raise just disappears.

I’m from Nigeria and let me tell you, taxes here make me furious. It’s not about tolerating taxes, it’s complete nonsense. The government makes life a struggle, and yeah, people are just trying to survive.

Sure, people understand taxes fund programs. But corruption makes them feel like they’re just feeding the rich and getting nothing back.
I agree, taxes should go to a government that works for the people. In my country, taxes aren’t improving anything. Healthcare is a joke, and there’s zero innovation.

Yeah, if taxes actually led to better public services, nobody would mind paying them. But when you see no return on your money, it’s a different story.
Literate folks get it: salary alone won’t cut it with rising expenses. And tax increases don’t help when wages barely keep up with inflation.

People would be okay with taxes if they saw real benefits, but when the money just disappears into the system, that’s when the anger builds.
It’s all about lifestyle inflation. As your salary goes up, so do your expenses. If you keep spending more, you’ll never feel ahead.
Most people don’t even realize how much taxes affect them. They just accept it without questioning it, living in a bubble.
If taxes were used well, we’d all be happy to contribute. But with so much corruption, it’s hard to feel good about it.

OP is confusing taxes with inflation. They’re linked but separate issues. Paying taxes feels like a burden, especially when the rich get away with paying less.
I don’t mind paying taxes if I can see the benefits. But when corruption is rampant, it’s hard to stay positive.
