I’ve got an S9K asic miner I’m looking to sell. Not making any profits anymore... since it’s a sha256 rig, can I use it for anything else? Also, I’m thinking about upgrading to a better asic and have about 14k to spend. What’s the most profitable asic miner out there right now? I found the Antminer S19 XP, but it only brings in like 4.7 bucks daily. Anything better?

You’re spot on, the asic I’m eyeing has a Hyd name in it. No clue what makes it different from the regular S19 tho. Energy use isn't a big deal for me since I’ve got solar panels, so I just tap into the grid at night. Thanks for pointing that out!

Hydro versions are cool cause they don’t need those huge cooling fans. But they do require some pumps and a radiator for cooling which eats up power too. So when you add that in, it kinda evens out. Just keep that in mind when you’re figuring out costs.

Honestly, a lot of older miners are just not worth it. Most are second-hand and will run you at a loss. If anyone tries to sell you those old models, they’re just trying to take advantage of you. Don’t fall for it. If it’s not a solid Bitcoin miner, skip it.

Totally agree, older models are a waste of time. I’ve checked local boards for Antminers, but every calculation shows I’d be losing money. Last year’s mining calculator was all red for me. Unless Bitcoin prices jump, mining is a tough gig for most places.
