It's no secret that some sketchy regimes like North Korea and Iran use crypto to dodge sanctions. They're basically using it for shady stuff, don't you think?

Totally agree. I mean, Bitcoin is kinda censorship-resistant. You can't really control who uses it. But those centralized coins, like stablecoins, are a different story they can freeze your assets.

Honestly, it’s not surprising that crypto gets tagged for money laundering. But it’s really about human nature, not the currency itself. Even if we didn’t have crypto, folks would still find a way to do bad stuff.

Terrorism financing happened long before Bitcoin existed. Cash is even more anonymous. Stricter regulations are coming as Bitcoin grows, no doubt.

Exactly! With decentralized finance, privacy is key. Yeah, exchanges are still involved, but once you move your coins to your wallet, that limits their control. In the long run, Bitcoin helps keep us more free.

But then, strict governments might just clamp down harder on legit crypto businesses because of the rogues. That’s not fair at all. They should focus on fiat as well, which is way more abused.

For sure, governments want to keep tabs on money to control citizens. But people who hold Bitcoin? They’ll keep on trading, regardless.

Exactly. If a country wants to use any currency for bad stuff, they’ll do it. Crypto gets more flak because it’s the new thing, but fiat has been part of this game forever.

Financing terrorism has existed since before Bitcoin. Using that as an excuse to justify tighter controls seems ridiculous. It's more about control than actual issues.

What’s up with sanctions anyway? Who gets to decide what’s right or wrong globally? The US and EU don’t own the world, yet they impose all these rules.

The term 'rogue nation' is subjective. What one person sees as lawful might be termed rogue by another. Bitcoin’s decentralized nature can’t be weaponized by any authority.

Is it really fair to say crypto in the hands of naughty regimes harms the ecosystem? It does pose risks, but crypto’s fundamentals are still strong enough to weather it.

No way to fully evade sanctions with crypto. Look at Russia they’re still trading through BRICS, no crypto needed.

True. Any asset in criminal hands risks devaluation. Bitcoin is used for illegal activities because of its anonymity. Those of us using it normally need to be careful.

Yeah, bad actors definitely use crypto to avoid sanctions, but fiat has a much worse track record. Governments then overreact, wanting to surveil everything.

Before crypto, criminals were doing bad stuff too. Tougher exchange rules won’t stop them. They'll just find other ways to get around it.

Are they really going to need more from exchanges than just our personal data? If they start asking for biometric info, it's getting a bit too invasive.

They might try to control illegal funding better, but honestly, tracking users won’t eliminate crime. Maybe the honest crypto users have nothing to worry about.

Listen, if you don't get it, I’ll break it down for you. There are international laws against terrorism. But it’s dumb to call out the U.S. for stuff when it’s happening everywhere.

Exactly, and crypto can reveal all this corruption if more people want transparency. Crazy how people used to think crypto was for terrorists, and now some governments use it for shady stuff too.
