Why is this debate framed as spammers having rights? What about node operators? They didn’t ask for unwanted data!

Exactly. There's no obligation to run a node. But if you do, you gotta deal with others' transactions, even if you hate them.

And censoring data can turn developers into biased moderators. Bad actors will just scatter data across outputs anyway.

I get that OP_RETURN is better for nodes but does bumping the limit really change much? Can’t attackers just send multiple OP_RETURNs?
