Can I pay a miner to speed up my transaction?

Hey, kinda strange question here. I have a transaction that’s been hanging out in the blockchain for 5 days. The sender didn’t add a high enough fee, and there’s no RBF. Is there any way I can reach out to a miner and pay more to get it confirmed? Thanks!

Just so you know, individual miners usually can't choose which transactions to include. You gotta hit up the mining pool operators if you want your txn prioritized. Try ViaBTC, they do this but they usually charge a hefty fee.

Well hold on. If miners are solo mining with a full node, they can totally add whatever transaction they want. But yeah, if they're not super powerful, it’s not likely they’ll find blocks as fast.

Honestly, a CPFP transaction is your best bet. Just like hosseinimr93 said. Drop a higher fee for the next transaction and it might help.

Actually, even with mining pools, if they’re using Stratum V2, they can pick which transactions to include before submitting them. It’s not a crazy far-fetched idea, but you’d need some negotiation.

IDK, but paying someone to include your txn isn’t really worth it, especially with BTC. Just use that extra cash and RBF your txn. It lets you replace transactions easier.

It's true, a lot of nodes accept RBF, and some mining pools allow you to replace unconfirmed txns. But OP needs to control the initial transaction for that to work. If not, then yeah, pay a pool to speed things up.

If you’ve got control over the wallet that sent you the coins and it’s low fee, yeah it sucks, you’ll have to just wait. But if you control the wallet you received it on, you can do CPFP. Still, it's complicated if you’re new to BTC.

But you mentioned RBF in your first post, right? If you’re smart enough to know about that, then doing CPFP should be within reach. I mean, if you don’t have control over things, it’s silly to just assume you can RBF it without some knowledge.
