So Blockstream is dropping news about a new ASIC miner in late 2024. After years of work, huh? I wonder if it’ll be worth the wait.

Great, a miner with no details... what a tease. They already shared the info here days ago.

I mean, why give away specs now if the launch is so far off? Just gives competitors a heads-up to beat them to the punch. They’re gonna struggle to compete with Bitmain and MicroBT anyway.

You got a point. They probably need to hype it for funding. Investors want something to bite on, even if it’s vague. But yeah, history shows U.S. made chips have a tough time competing.

On a side note, Blockstream does have some hardware, like the Blockstream Jade wallet and their satellite service. But are they really making a mark in mining or just dabbling?

Funny how Bitmain's S19s are still dominating. New research says they own a massive chunk of the hashrate. Makes you wonder if Blockstream can even catch up.

Depends on what they aim for... if they go for super efficient, could work at a premium. I’ve modified mine for max efficiency and it’s doing great.

But honestly, they bought Spondoolies two years ago and haven’t shown much since. Delaying their miner until late next year? Doesn’t sound good for them.
