This thread is all about how Bitcoin has performed historically compared to the S&P 500. We know Bitcoin’s journey from its inception to now. Adoption rates, profit margins, value increases, and its role in the global economy are key points to discuss. Let’s get into why Bitcoin might be a more attractive option than traditional assets.
Bitcoin vs S&P 500: Which is the Better Investment?

Honestly, I think gold is the only real comparison for Bitcoin. In 10 or 20 years, it will likely surpass all stocks and sit just below gold in market cap. There might even be a time when Bitcoin competes directly with gold as the world shifts toward digital assets.
BTC is definitely faster than anything in the traditional market. It's the future, no doubt. But we can't forget about its volatility. The longer it’s around, the more positive views people seem to have.
For sure, Bitcoin shows way better returns than many traditional investments. But people often get scared off by its ups and downs. They prefer safer bets with lower returns, not realizing that Bitcoin’s volatility is actually tied to its potential profitability. Plus, a lot of folks are just misinformed thanks to bad sources.
Check out casebitcoin.com for some solid numbers. They have ROI charts that compare different assets over time, which are way more up-to-date than what’s in some articles. It’s a great resource.
There’s usually a positive correlation with Bitcoin and the market, but COVID was a major outlier. Even then, no one saw that drop coming.
This summary really hits home. Bitcoin has historically outperformed the S&P 500, especially when you look at profits from 2012 to 2024. It’s a strong argument for Bitcoin being the better investment for those chasing high returns.
Everything points to Bitcoin in global commerce. It’s steady and operates outside the control of central authorities. Its value is determined by users, and that’s what makes it key for the future of finance.

2017 was a big deal for Bitcoin holders. Those who held on made a killing. But honestly, even from that peak, prices are still climbing. So, it's never too late to invest. Start now, and in 5-10 years, you might be looking at a nice retirement fund.
No doubt, Bitcoin has outperformed most assets since it started, even if it’s 7th in market cap right now. In the future, it has a good shot at competing with gold. I really believe Bitcoin’s future is brighter than gold’s.
I see OP is comparing Bitcoin with stocks, not just other digital assets. Companies like Apple and Tesla are being considered here. Bitcoin outshines all digital assets by far. But gold is still a tough competitor. Still, Bitcoin has huge potential.

I asked AI to graph some data, and it shows Bitcoin’s big moments in 2013 and 2017. Those who got in early were super lucky. Comparing Bitcoin to the S&P 500 feels off. It’s like comparing a leopard to a tiger; Bitcoin is more like digital gold.

Bitcoin is definitely going to win out in the end. But S&P has its perks if you just wanna invest and not think about it. What I love about Bitcoin is the chance for explosive growth. If you time it right, you can cash out big during bull runs.
Everything indicates Bitcoin is becoming a go-to asset. It’s advancing and drawing interest from governments and corporations. They want to secure their future with Bitcoin as it continues to develop.
