I just discovered Liquid and it’s been a fun ride so far. It’s super flexible for testing things out, especially those OP codes that aren’t enabled in Bitcoin yet.
I’ve been using scriptwiz.app for writing witness and tapscripts. The issue I’m facing is that while I can fund these scripts with P2WSH or P2TR, I can’t seem to spend from them. Elements Core doesn’t let me use custom witness or tapscripts. Anyone have solid suggestions?
Best Tools for Working with Witness and Tapscripts

Not sure a tool like that exists. You might end up having to code something yourself.
This issue with custom scripts has been around forever! Even with P2SH being old news, finding a tool to spend from any script not hard-coded in is tough. Like, m-of-n multisig works, but something with OP_IF? Good luck.
Only thing I can think of is using createrawtransaction in Bitcoin Core.
There’s this post that says you can import your address into Bitcoin Core using a descriptor if your script is compatible with Miniscript. That might simplify things a bit.
Cool, thanks for the input. I funded this script hash:
It’s just a signed "Hello World" message. You publish it to get testnet bitcoin from here: tb1qmklyqnchpyfqvz3lkmxf6y8k47fcthwkmffvhu4u8ha0xqrmelrspj7f9a.
But I’m worried spending it could be a hassle, right?
This same address got funded on Liquid’s testnet too, but no one seems to have claimed it. Maybe that’s due to the whole non-standard issue? Address is tex1qy85zk844lwd4zazrxhqls07k4sx736h8pcqrjpr2lj58v5l3mhaq32qtrl.
I’ll check out Miniscript, does it let you execute any script?
AFAIK, if your script fits with Miniscript, then Bitcoin Core can handle it.
I’ve never tried it myself though. I feel like you’d get a better answer on one of those other forums or on Google Groups.
