I have a couple of miners, an Avalon nano 3 and a Futurebit Apollo. Right now they’re sitting in my office, but it’s crazy hot in here. What about the garage? Temps hit like 90 during the day, at least in Florida. Anyone got ideas where to keep them cool while they mine?

Honestly, they should handle 90 just fine. Try the garage and see how it goes. I mean, most folks in Florida use AC in the summer, right? With their power draw, around 250-300 watts combined, they shouldn’t heat up the space too much.

Yeah, those miners are small and low power. I doubt they’ll crank out too much heat unless your room is tiny. But putting them in the garage could work. Just make sure to add a fan for airflow; overheat is a real risk.

For sure, my room is small and it does heat up more than I thought. Not unbearable, but noticeable when it’s sweltering outside.

300 watts in a small room? That’s a lot if there’s no AC! If it’s insulated, the heat just sits there. Garage sounds like a decent idea, just get a little USB fan to keep the air flowing. If the garage is big enough, it won’t be too bad.
