Avalon Mini 3 and Nano 3S: New Home Miners Discussion

Anyone else excited about the Avalon Mini 3? Can't wait to see how it performs in home setups.

so any idea on the price yet? I heard it might cost around 1100 bucks.

This whole home mining market is kinda wild. Options are limited, it’s either big power hogs or old tech.

Totally agree. If they can pull off a 40 Th/s with only 800w, that's the dream for us colder climate folks.

Yeah, if they can keep it around 600-700 dollars, that’d be great... otherwise it's a tough sell.

Man, I thought I was getting a deal at 1180 after taxes but this is still high for a home miner.

The price is steep considering you can build your own miner for cheaper if you have the parts.

I think if you're into solo mining, the Mini 3 could be a good upgrade.

I just got one too! Planning to use it as a 'lottery' miner. Haven’t tried that in ages.

The Mini 3 looks like it's filling a gap the Antminer R4 left. Been waiting for something new!

There are also concerns about WiFi vs Ethernet setups. Is the Mini rocking a good connection?

The Mini is WiFi only but uses a USB port for potential Ethernet dongles, kinda cool.

I read that some USB to Ethernet adapters don’t work well. Canaan should provide a compatibility list.

I found a workable USB Ethernet adapter on Amazon, works great for my Linux setup.
