I’ve seen some folks cashing out their Bitcoin, expecting the market to drop. A lot probably switched to stablecoins, right? But seriously, doesn’t that freak you out? Keeping your assets in something like USDT for years? That just feels like putting your money in a bank during a bear market.
Totally agree. Holding USDT long-term is sketchy for sure. Banks have that government backing, but stablecoins rely mostly on the company's honesty. Even with Tether getting audited, I’m still worried they could’ve invested in risky stuff and boom, just like Terra.
I’m with you on the fear of stablecoins. That's why I'm not holding them at all. I’d rather keep my BTC and risk the ups and downs instead of getting rekt by Tether or whatever.
UST was a total disaster because it had no real backing. Tether, on the other hand, is supposed to be fully backed. Sure, there are risks, but it's not like it'll crash overnight like UST did.
The idea of making profits by swapping BTC for stablecoins is kinda weird. It’s not like you’re just converting to fiat. The risks are still there, though.
I’m not super confident with stablecoins, but I’m diversifying. USDT and USDC can’t both collapse at the same time, right? So splitting the funds seems safer.
You’re spot on, USDT may be safer than UST, but they both have their own risks. USDC is tied to U.S. regulations, while Tether has its own issues. Spread out your investments, that’s the way.
Stablecoin crashes won’t be quick; they’ll probably happen slowly as inflation becomes a real issue. I mean, Tether freezing your assets? That would suck.
