Two more notable developers just left the Ethereum Foundation this week, Carl Beek and Julian Ma. This makes it a worrying trend, given that others have been leaving recently too.

What’s weak performance? Price? I don’t think that’s it at all. My bet is on conflicting ideas about how to scale Ethereum moving forward.
ETH has kind of gone back to its pre-NFT hype status. Fees are low, but rumors of internal issues are swirling since they updated the EF mandate last March.

Could be other factors too. A lot of talent is heading towards AI projects, which are the hot thing now.
The market price isn’t the reason developers leave. They’re probably just moving on to other projects, maybe even AI. Ethereum has a strong community backing it, so it'll be fine without a few people.

Performance isn’t terrible, though. Many crypto projects are in the same boat and struggling to break previous highs. I’m feeling bullish about Ethereum, especially with Vitalik's latest proposals.
Losing a couple of names doesn’t mean much. There are still plenty of core devs actively working on Ethereum, around 170 or so. Sure, losing senior devs is tough, but it could just be burnout.

Price issues aren’t unique to ETH. But losing key developers is concerning. Vitalik can’t do it all alone, and we need a solid team to keep the project going.

No clear reason for the departures, just speculation. This hasn’t impacted ETH’s price very visibly, so it’s not a major concern...yet.
I think it’s overblown to link their leaving to some price weakness. We’d be worried if there were hardly any developers left, but that’s not the case. Price drama is mostly just noise.
They have a point. Ethereum has been moving sideways and not making big leaps, even with ETF news. Internal disagreements might be happening, but who knows?

I tend to agree with the views here. Developers leaving is probably more than just price concerns. It sounds like there’s some kind of crisis brewing.
ETH's price has actually been decent lately, with a recent all-time high. Their departures were planned, not sudden. Personal choices, really.

Curious if the EF tightened its cypherpunk stance. Developers tend to leave without explaining their reasons, which makes things murky.
Leaving could be individual goals, not necessarily related to price. The fast-paced nature of this space means it’s normal for people to seek new challenges.
We’ve seen this before with splits in other networks. Lack of unity leads to conflicts and could cause developers to seek out different projects.

If there really is a crisis, it needs addressing quickly. Leaving would only make things look worse for Ethereum.
Price drop could coincide with the developer exits, but it does seem coincidental rather than causative to me.
Privacy on Ethereum? Good luck with that, I doubt regulators would ever accept it fully.

ETH has got to focus on improving its transaction capacity. Other platforms are outpacing it, like SOL and BSC.
