So Bitcoin ETFs are basically funds that invest in Bitcoin but you don’t actually get to own the Bitcoin, just shares. Seems like the whole thing is just a centralization play.

Yeah, exactly. ETF investors aren’t managing their own keys. They buy shares and assume the ETF custodian is taking care of everything. It's just not the same as self-custody.

Let’s be clear, some people are in it for diversification. They think that by going through these institutional routes, their investments are safer than holding Bitcoin directly.

But if they’re really investing in Bitcoin stocks, why not just buy and hold Bitcoin themselves? Why go through a third party?

A lot of these ETFs don’t even hold Bitcoin directly. They rely on custodians like Coinbase, which is a huge risk. If something goes wrong, those funds are in jeopardy.

Exactly, it’s like giving your money to someone else to manage for you. Boomers and pension funds want easy access without the hassle of dealing with private keys.

As long as people understand the difference between owning Bitcoin and owning ETF shares, I guess they can coexist. But that’s a big if.

For sure. Using an ETF is pretty much the same as owning stock. To really experience Bitcoin, you need your own wallet. Most people don’t even want to learn how to use it.

These companies manipulating the market know how powerful Bitcoin is. It’s like history repeating itself with gold.

Totally, ETFs are just a centralized way for people to get Bitcoin exposure without the responsibility. They trust these firms more than they trust themselves.

I think they might be trying to draw attention away from the actual Bitcoin network to keep people within these centralized systems.

I’m fine with ETFs as long as they don’t mess with Bitcoin itself. But I really wish more people would just buy Bitcoin directly.

Honestly, many people use ETFs for the tax benefits without realizing it’s just like buying an IOU. It’s all part of our centralized society.

I read that Coinbase holds most of the Bitcoin from ETFs. If anything goes wrong with them, that’s a disaster waiting to happen.

Without ETFs, people would be asking on forums about how to buy and store Bitcoin. Now they just think they own it through these funds.

Bitcoin’s price today shows that ETFs and regulations definitely do have an impact on the market.

ETFs have really attracted big money, but they don’t follow the core principles of Bitcoin. Yet, ETF investors are still part of the Bitcoin ecosystem.

A Bitcoin ETF is just another financial product. BlackRock sees it as a way to tokenize everything, which is not what Bitcoin was made for.

I agree with you. True Bitcoin believers will always prefer self-custody. If you’re investing in ETFs, you’re showing you don’t fully trust yourself.

So true! People are just not ready to take full responsibility for their assets yet. They want an easy way out.
