This is huge news. With $12 trillion in client assets and around 46 million accounts, direct access to BTC and ETH could really push crypto into the mainstream. But US residents will need to open new crypto accounts with Schwab Premier Bank though it won’t be available in NY and Louisiana.

Totally get that people are curious but also hesitant about crypto. This could really help those unsure about how to dive in.

Yeah, once they integrate this, I bet traditional banking clients will catch on pretty fast. They'll offer guides to help people understand risks and make better trades.

But honestly, they should just learn to trade by themselves instead of relying on banks. It feels like giving away your control.

I’d rather stick to exchanges that know crypto well, like Binance or OKX. Schwab might be big, but their crypto experience? Not convinced. Centralized exchanges are risky enough.

But comparing Schwab to Binance, they might be more secure since they’re highly regulated and partner with established services like Coinbase for Bitcoin purchases.

I just want clarity here. Will we actually be able to buy and withdraw BTC? Are there deposits involved? No management fees? Guess we’ll find out soon.

BlackRock has a massive $14 trillion under management and is getting into Bitcoin ETFs, so it's evident there's growing interest. Schwab’s move seems to be in response to market demand and regulatory changes.

But keep in mind that just because these big firms manage trillions doesn’t mean they’re diving headfirst into Bitcoin. BlackRock’s ETFs have only pulled in about 1% of their total assets kinda underwhelming.

For sure, folks are hyped about this thinking it’ll mainstream Bitcoin. But honestly, short-term gains won’t matter much to long-term holders, right?

This is a critical point. Many newbies don't understand the difference between holding on exchanges vs personal wallets. Schwab's entry can only be good for crypto visibility, especially in the US.

Good reminder. Those big headlines sound impressive, but actual percentages tell a different story. Schwab feels more like they’re playing catch-up than leading a capital wave.

It’s kind of cool, but it doesn’t feel groundbreaking like previous firsts in crypto. Schwab joining now, when others have already jumped in, doesn't have the same hype.

Exactly! The firsts were epic like Satoshi's first transaction or the first Bitcoin pizza purchase. This feels more like business as usual.

Honestly, most investors still don’t know Bitcoin. Having another bank show interest is cool, but true believers see the value regardless of what mainstream thinks.

The street test analogy really hits home here. Most people know Bitcoin exists but can’t explain it beyond just ‘digital money’.

Yeah, education is key, but there are tons of resources online. People just need to find the right information.

This news just feels like the same old story... more banks wanting in on crypto.

I still have questions. Is spot trading just another name for what ETFs do? Like, no real difference except maybe fewer fees?

Good point. I wonder if the ‘spot’ thing is just a marketing gimmick or if it really is distinct from ETFs.
