I keep hearing about Ordinals lately. I wasn't around for the early talks but it's been everywhere since the halving. Some folks say it's pointless, while others act like it’s the next big thing. So what gives? How did this underdog get so much attention?

You’re not alone, man. A lot of us are confused. It’s been debated a lot here. True Bitcoin fans are skeptical while investors see it as a cash grab with NFTs on BTC. Halving hype plays a big role too, people think it boosts their token value.

Yeah but Satoshi never intended for this. Casey Rodarmor mentioned it in the Ordinal theory. Like, money is supposed to be fungible. But for ordinals, it’s a yes or no situation. Just weird.

That’s why people call Ordinals a scam. They’re not even real NFTs. For it to be a token, Bitcoin would need to be a platform for that, which it’s not. It’s just arbitrary data, exploiting SegWit flaws. Satoshi didn't create this mess, someone else did.

And by clogging up block space for ordinals, fees skyrocket. Makes it harder for us to send BTC on-chain. Not cool.

I get that perspective. But honestly, if it’s just a satoshi, what does it matter where it’s placed? Unless it’s the first block, it’s all kinda irrelevant. I think this whole Ordinal thing feels like a setup, especially post-halving.

Check out the official Ordinals documentation. They explain the rarity of satoshis and all that jazz. Might clear things up a bit.
