So I've seen some buzz lately about how Venezuela might hold between 400k to 600k BTC, which could be worth around $60 billion. Apparently, they got these coins through gold trades and oil deals using stablecoins. But is it even true?

I mean, let's be real. The official number is like 2401 BTC or something close. So where are these massive claims coming from? Seems like pure speculation to me.

Yeah, exactly. It's like back in the day when they sold gold, and nobody knows what happened with that money. I heard some crazy stories that Maduro might have just pocketed it.

That's what I think too. If they really had that stash, why wouldn't they use it to pay off their debts? Feels sketchy.

Right? All this crypto news makes it sound like fact, but it’s mostly just clickbait. I doubt Venezuela even has close to those numbers.

I read somewhere that they might not even possess more than 300 BTC. It’s all so confusing.

No official source backs those numbers. I saw a report saying 240 BTC, and that's from last year. How can we trust these rumors?

Yeah, and Maduro's regime isn't known for being transparent. Remember the Petro? That was a total flop.

Totally. If they had 600k BTC, the country would definitely not be in such bad shape right now.

I’m curious about how the speculation impact the market. If they actually have that much Bitcoin, it could really shake things up.

I doubt they have all that Bitcoin hidden away. If they do, it could be tied up in illegal activities or just corruption.

The gap between 240 BTC and 600k is insane. How does that even make sense? If they had that much, they'd have to show some proof.

For sure. Plus, if they really do have a stash, they wouldn’t keep it all in a hidden wallet. They'd flaunt it somehow.

If these rumors are true, I’d see it more as a liquidity issue rather than a political one. Frozen coins affect supply differently.

Exactly! The reports of 600k BTC just sound way too exaggerated. I want proof, not just speculation.

If the government is corrupt, it’s likely that those Bitcoins, if they exist, aren’t really for the people.

Right. Any real wealth should have improved their economy, but that's clearly not the case.

I think we need to keep an eye on this. If Maduro's regime falls, it could send ripples through the crypto market.

True. And honestly, a big sell-off isn’t as scary as it sounds. Just another chance to grab more BTC.

Well, if they are hiding such a quantity, it’s hard to keep it under wraps forever. Someone will expose it eventually.
