I just found a couple of jewelry stores that accept Bitcoin. Seems like a great idea, especially since gold prices are often lower than they should be. If more stores used BTC, it might help sellers get a better deal.

I get what you're saying, but let's be real. We need to see more merchants actually adopting Bitcoin as payment before we start comparing gold prices in BTC instead of USD. It's a gradual process, and Bitcoin is slowly gaining traction.

Totally agree. If they set a Bitcoin price for gold, that would be awesome. No need to convert to fiat all the time. But yeah, most prices are still tied to fiat, so there could be issues with spreads.

Not sure this will change much. If they keep selling gold at low prices, buying with Bitcoin won’t really make a difference. Gold is valuable on its own, and paying with BTC or fiat seems pretty similar to me.

Cool to see businesses accepting Bitcoin. But are you seriously suggesting they make gold cubes worth $100? You can't even get a real cube for that price. That'd be like 0.96 grams, which isn’t a cube at all.

What you wrote makes sense, but I’ve seen it locally. A few gold shops accepted Bitcoin, but it didn’t last. The volatility is a huge risk during transactions. Prices can shift dramatically, leading to losses.

Gold and Bitcoin are just different beasts. Their supply, utility, and tech are worlds apart. People love to compare them, but honestly, Bitcoin's ROI has been way better in recent years.

I think gold could be pegged to Bitcoin values, which could make trading easier. But global adoption? Not so sure about that. Some shops might try it, but there are privacy concerns since they’re not online.

Are you talking about stores that accept Bitcoin? Jewelry shops often have high price spreads to manage volatility and keep a profit margin. Honestly, your experience seems off to me. If Bitcoin became the norm, they'd have to base everything on BTC prices.

I’m all for more jewelry stores accepting Bitcoin. Sure, volatility is an issue, but having more places that accept BTC is a step in the right direction.

Using Bitcoin as a pricing standard seems risky. Its price swings mean constant recalculation. A weight-based pricing system makes more sense. Just calculate gold's worth and let people pay in whichever currency they prefer.

Bitcoin adoption is definitely on the rise. I’ve noticed more jewelry stores accepting it. Some do wallet-to-wallet, others use third parties. They should really let people sell gold for Bitcoin too, that makes sense.

Two things here: 1) OP wants to buy small amounts of gold with Bitcoin. 2) They want wider acceptance of Bitcoin payments. But most jewelry stores are independently owned, so it’s up to them.

Show us those shops! When you buy jewelry, you’re paying for the craftsmanship, not just the gold. Investing in jewelry is a bad idea given the markup. Better to just buy gold bars, but taxes can complicate that.

It’s easier said than done. Most gold shops work on fiat for profit reasons. Converting to Bitcoin complicates everything. Plus, regulations might not even allow it, so they stick to cash.

Volatility is a huge issue for Bitcoin in gold purchases. Regulators will definitely ask questions if a business operates under tax laws while accepting BTC. Fiat systems are still a thing, especially for gold.

Look, gold shops sell via fiat, and it’s not as straightforward as it seems. Not all shops will easily accept Bitcoin. Most prefer fiat to ensure they make a profit.

Adopting crypto is just a strategy for stores to offer Bitcoin payments. It won’t change much in the jewelry industry. If they want to sell direct, that’s their choice, but most prefer fiat.

Why would it work better with Bitcoin? Are prices lower when using fiat? I don’t get if crypto is better. Does selling in fiat lower value? Bitcoin is volatile too.
