So, US lawyers are trying to stop the movement of $73M worth of frozen ETH from that Kelp exploit. They say North Korea owes them billions in damages. Seems kinda wild to me.

Yeah, a restraining notice was filed. But how do they expect to get money back that was supposedly stolen? Aave said it best: a thief can’t own stolen stuff. Makes you wonder if they can even win this.
Aave Labs is all in for Kelp DAO and Arbitrum DAO, while Gerstein Harrow is backing the other victims. But honestly, who knows how long this could drag out? They're talking about a lot of ETH here, and Gerstein won't be quick to give up.

True, and if blockchain data shows the funds moved to the attacker and were frozen after, that should clarify ownership. But will a judge even see blockchain analysis as solid proof?
Doubtful, considering the judge isn’t a blockchain whiz. They’ll probably bring in experts, but these cases can stretch for years! Not good for Kelp DAO at all.
Speaking of delays, freezing funds is often just an initial stopgap. Legal battles in DeFi feel like they just prolong the pain for the victims who really need help.
Yeah, I don’t think lawyers care about victims at all. It’s all about their bottom line. Just saw that the court pushed the hearing back to 2026... Who knows what will happen by then.
