Just came across this article on the Sharpe ratio. Folks seem really worried about BTC's Sharpe and Sartori ratios lately.

From what I see in the chart, we’ve been on a downward trend since early 2024, right around the last ATH before the halving. It feels like we're in a prolonged "high risk" zone compared to earlier bull runs. This recent bull market has mostly unfolded under risky conditions.

Gotcha, thanks for breaking that down. But am I wrong thinking that despite this being a bull market, the Sharpe ratio has been dropping since 2024? In previous bull markets, it usually rose with prices. Is there something I’m missing?

Pro tip: next time, just reply to what you want without quoting the whole post. Less clutter, ya know? And yeah, the article isn’t trash. It’s saying investing in Bitcoin is risky now, but historically low ratios often mean things start looking up. Just takes time.

These situations happen all the time. Being early in an investment usually comes with risks, like gambling. Look at Amazon during the dot-com bust. It dropped like crazy but came back strong.

Do you need to pinpoint the bottom or next ATH for BTC, OP? I mean, you can still profit without knowing for sure.

That’s true about altcoins. Lots of them are just hype and scams, while Bitcoin has solid potential moving forward. It isn't like those other bubbles we’ve seen. Blockchain really rests on Bitcoin.

Exactly! We can expect to see less of that memecoin volatility with Bitcoin for now. The article was about volatility, not just price drops, which is key.
