Finally got my Terraminer IV today. Bought it in December for quite a price. Super stoked! Took some pics, check them out on imgur.
Nice one! Is there a cgminer build for PC via USB? Wondering if the BeagleBone is too weak for the hash rate.

There is a USB port, but I heard it’s not meant to be used like that. Gotta check if it’s doable, but I know some boards have issues with Raspberry Pi.

I ran mine for a bit on a lower PSU while I was sorting out power cords. Once I plugged in the other PSU, the hashrate doubled without any hassle.

What’s the noise level on these? Can we swap out the fans?

When one CTA shuts down, how do I reboot? Just CGMiner in the web interface? And those fans really blow heat, right?

Super loud! I wouldn’t replace the fans, though. They’re necessary to keep it cool, it’s serious server tech.

Not sure how that would play out... they mine together, not really directing boards to different pools. You can SSH to reboot everything.

Thanks for the info, super helpful!

#10 Jul 31, 2018, 01:43 PM I panicked too when I couldn’t see it in DHCP. Rebooted and swapped cables for ages. Turns out if the ethernet isn't plugged in before powering on, it won’t show.

#11 Jul 31, 2018, 04:31 PM If you’re setting this up, make sure your router’s DHCP data is handy. Otherwise, good luck scanning for the IP.

#12 Jul 31, 2018, 06:45 PM Planning to post a video later. If you’re setting it up, pick a room with good airflow. I can hear mine from outside, it’s like a blow dryer.

#13 Jul 31, 2018, 07:54 PM Lol, that loud? How does it compare to Avalon miners?

#14 Jul 31, 2018, 10:11 PM About as loud as 10 Avalons, I’d say.

What’s the power draw like?

Just added the source to the cgminer git master tree.

Same issue here, my cgminer shows 1.5 to 1.6 locally but only 1.3 on the pool. Did your tweaking help? What did you change?
Came across a local ad for a Cointerra, but the pics look off. Prob a scam.

Just wanted to clarify, I aim for the on-screen hashrate to reflect actual shares. Others seem to show what the device thinks it's hashing.

Direct USB to hashing boards isn’t a go, unfortunately.
