Setting Up Your Avalon6: Troubleshooting Tips and Tricks

Hey guys, just started diving into mining and got my Avalon6 set up. Looking for any tips or guides to get this going.

I see some options listed. What about the Delta fan? Why does it look like the Nidec VA450DC?

Honestly, probably just one manufacturer making the same fans. Companies just put their own branding.

Thanks for the guide. I set up my first miner yesterday, an Antminer S7. No issues at all with that one. Avalon6, though? It just sits there... blinking yellow. Any advice?

Yellow usually means idle. Can you connect to the Raspberry Pi? Post a pic of your config.

Not sure how to connect to it. The controller version is blank too, which seems like a problem.

You got a blank controller? That’s no good. Let’s figure it out. Post some screenshots of your settings.

Why is there a 1000W PSU link when it draws 1100W? Seems off.

That’s just wall watts. A 1000W PSU can handle 1100W at peak without issues. Let’s not overthink it.

Looks good, but check if the PSU is powered on and if all modules are up and running.

I see two ribbon cables inside, but I can’t tell if they’re connected well. Green LED light next to them is on. Should I open it up?

You might need to. If those cables aren’t seated right, that's probably your issue.

PSU seems to work. Jumpered it from green to black and everything powered on momentarily before going idle.

Sounds like your PSU might have load protection. It’s typical some don’t play well with mining.

Testing the PCI-E cables gave me 12V, but I’m not sure what it means.

You need to measure under load. What model PSU are you using?

It’s a LEPA G1200-MA. Should be fine, right?

Nah, I’ve heard those can have issues. It might shut down if it sees too much draw.
