Anyone wanna talk about this CLARITY Act? I’ve read some stuff but still kinda lost on how it affects crypto.

Same here, not from the US either. But I started a thread on my local forum about how it could clarify crypto classifications. If I got it right, it’ll define what counts as securities and what’s just regular assets.

Yeah, they’re basically categorizing digital assets into five groups, right? SEC will handle those considered securities while CFTC takes care of the rest.

Exactly. It already passed in Congress, now just waiting on the Senate. If it goes through, we might finally see some clear rules for trading and compliance.

CLARITY Act, well, the name kinda says it all, huh? It’s about sorting out the mess around whether crypto is a commodity or a security.

Been following the updates on social media. Eleanor Terrett seems to have the best info! Hope Coinbase doesn’t mess this up for us.

For real though, if this gets passed, it could really stabilize the market. Less manipulation equals more organic growth for Bitcoin.

But, question is, does that make crypto less exciting? I mean, volatility is what got a lot of people into this space.

True, but while the SEC and CFTC figure things out, Tether and Circle are reaping benefits without clear regulations.

Looks like the discussions are postponed till at least April. They’re focused on something else right now, which is frustrating.

Interesting point about Warsh. He’s got a ton of crypto assets. You think that’ll help the bill?

Yeah, maybe. But I'm skeptical about any regulation helping the market. We don’t need another layer of red tape.

I get that. Just saying clearer rules might attract serious investors who currently shy away from uncertainty.

But isn’t that what makes crypto fun? The swings, the risks. If it feels like the stock market, won’t we lose the thrill?

You might be right. But institutional money could come in if there’s legal clarity. Might balance things out.

I read Polymarket thinks the bill’s chances are pretty low for now. Might take until 2026 for real action.

Senator said they’re not holding any hearings in April. It’s definitely a setback.

This feels like such a drawn-out process. Why can’t they just speed it along?

The Clarity Act should technically help everyone deal with legal issues better. No more gray areas.

But does clearer regulation mean a drop in investment in the long run? Feels like a gamble.
