Did you guys catch the Claude Code leak that hit GitHub last week? Anthropic went full force sending DMCA notices to get everything taken down. Some dude even used AI to rewrite the code in Rust super fast to dodge the DMCA... that fork is still up and running now.
It got me thinking about what would happen if an exchange or DeFi platform ended up leaking their proprietary code. Would someone step up to create a clone?

+1, totally possible! But honestly, who needs to copy the code? Just set up a phishing site that looks similar, right? The original platform needs to be smart about dealing with these scams. But I get your point about the potential for clones.
True, phishers are pretty clever. Just look at those cloud mining scams showing fake hardware pics and made-up income stats. I bet they could fake exchanges too, but man, that sounds like a lot of work for not much gain.
Yeah, I think if a big exchange's code leaks, it’d need something more than just a small tweak to replicate it fully. Their infrastructure is too complex. Plus, scammers can already use AI to mimic websites without having access to original code. Not much advantage in hacking the source.

Your points on security are spot on. This is a serious issue that devs need to think about. Even a minor change in contract logic can have huge consequences. Security analysis should be mandatory.
Just found out Microsoft shut down a bunch of important GitHub accounts, like Veracrypt and WireGuard. Real shady. Makes me worry they might do the same with Bitcoin stuff in the future. More control over developers isn’t good for us.
