Today’s Binance futures outage was a wake-up call for me. I had trades open on Bitget, so I was fine. But man, I've seen others stuck with no options. This is why diversifying is key... bad things can happen anywhere.

100% agree! No single CEX is perfect. Binance, OKX, Bitget, etc., have all gone down at some point. I keep accounts on a few just for this reason. Smart risk management means spreading your assets out. Better safe than sorry, right?
Why would anyone enter a futures trade without stop loss or take profit? If an exchange is under maintenance, your position shouldn’t get wrecked if you’ve set it up properly. Most maintenance is short-lived anyway... unless you’re on x100 use.

Exchanges like Binance usually give notifications before going offline. There’s always a message on the trading page. I’ve traded with them enough to know that. I have multiple accounts, and while Binance is one, it’s not my main go-to anymore.
Exactly! CEXs have their flaws. Spreading across platforms totally makes sense. Keeping your assets in non-custodial wallets for security is the best practice. Use CEXs just for trading, not storage.

Relying on exchanges as wallets is just asking for trouble. Using multiple exchanges doesn’t eliminate this risk. If you don’t control your private keys, you don’t really own your coins. It’s all about using secure, non-custodial wallets.
Totally agree about risks... diversifying is essential, but you still don't have complete control. I have funds spread across Binance, OKX, and Bitget and feel safe enough to not be overly worried if one closes. Just trying to earn while trading.
But having a portfolio on too many exchanges can backfire too. When you need to access your funds quickly, moving everything around can rack up fees and waste time. Consolidation can sometimes be better.
I’ve used Bitget for a while now and it’s been fine for me. Are you actually making money with airdrops? I’ve thought about using it but never took the plunge. I diversify mainly for trading, too.
Yeah, I do some tasks for easy airdrops to earn. But honestly, some aren't even worth holding onto. Sell off early to cash in while you can. With staking, little gains add up, but I get nervous not having full control.
For sure, selling early often brings better returns. Thanks for the tip!
You could make a killing if you focused just on one exchange, but that's super high-risk too. Losing everything in one go is a tough pill to swallow. You gotta weigh those potential high returns against the risk.
If you want real asset protection, keep your coins in a private wallet. I get that we’re talking about trading here, but security should always be front and center.
I generally stick to one main exchange but keep others on standby for opportunities. If I see better rates elsewhere, I’ll transfer in a heartbeat. But don't just create accounts everywhere for the sake of it.
Let’s not forget why we warn against leaving assets on centralized exchanges. A lot of folks still overlook security risks. It’s key, especially for new traders.
Are you referring to hacks or theft? Right on! Only keep trading funds on the exchange, transfer everything else back when you’re done. Many complain about fees, but scheduling weekly transfers helps.
I thought you might say that. Setting stop-loss orders is super smart in case of exchange hacks. But having too many exchanges can also tempt you to trade recklessly, juggling funds can get messy.

Don’t trust one exchange too much. Either way, you could lose everything if they freeze your account arbitrarily. Lots of horror stories about funds being frozen it's insane.
I use two major CEXs and a couple of new ones. It’s dangerous to put all eggs in one basket. I’ve seen Binance and Bybit crash at the same time during crazy market swings.

Nothing's truly safe, and that's the reality. Use exchanges for trading, not storage. It’s a common pitfall that can lead to huge losses. Use reputable exchanges to stay informed of issues.
