Just got a used S9 14T and found a busted capacitor under the pci-e sockets. There’s a screw hole right where it broke. Looks like someone used a screw that was too long. I ordered a replacement capacitor (1000uF 16V). Anyone think I can run it like this or should I wait?

You gotta replace that cap for sure. Running it without it? Sounds risky. I mean, it could fry other parts, right? Better safe than sorry, just swap it out.
Definitely remove that broken capacitor and fix the screw issue. Make sure you solder it correctly too. Electrolytic caps have polarity, so don’t mess that up or you’ll have bigger problems.
Soldering on those hashboards can be tricky. If the board is too hot, you might just get a cold solder joint. Try to heat it up first with hot air before you start soldering, it helps a lot.
