Hey everyone,
Excited to introduce our new Profitability Calculator for Bitcoin miners. It’s designed to help you assess your mining operations using solid historical data about Bitcoin. You can check opportunity costs during downtime or compare different HODLing strategies. Looking forward to your feedback!
Also, we plan to make it open-source, so everyone can use it and contribute. Check it out!
Would be great if the interface was more intuitive. Like, show profits for all models upfront for easier comparison. Something like this: https://www.asicminervalue.com/
And please include options for configuring each ASIC, especially for overclocking and wattage.
We appreciate the suggestions!
First, we need to add model release dates for historical accuracy. Shouldn't be too hard. But why do you want that feature? Are you looking to see which models were the most profitable in a certain time frame?
Exactly! Miners need to see which models are currently profitable and the daily earnings based on their electricity rates. That’s key.
Extra settings can be added later, but that’s the key info we need right now.
Here’s a quick update on our improvements:
1. Model input based on profitability rankings done! 🚀
2. Integrated model release dates done! 🚀
3. Added all 149 SHA-256 models done! 🚀
4. Specs table with filtering done! 🚀
Quick question. Is the network difficulty calculated based on adjustments or daily averages?
I know it changes every two weeks, but it'd be more precise if it was averaged daily. Also, are pool fees considered in the profit calculations?
Yes! A historical calculator is a must-have. It really shows that buying BTC usually beats mining in most cases. I’ve crunched some numbers and found that unless you time it perfectly, mining isn’t always worth it. But we need more data to make solid claims.
From what I remember, this is one of the most detailed mining calculators out there. I like the Cost-Benefit Analysis section. It shows that just buying Bitcoin isn’t always the best move. But sometimes the charts don’t update correctly. I noticed some errors in the console.
Thanks for spotting that! The daily data is from 00:00 UTC. Right now, it only uses daily figures, which makes it less accurate during those bi-weekly difficulty changes. More granular data would help, but it’ll cost more for storage and processing.
Yeah, I get that buying BTC often beats mining. That’s why we included a mine vs buy ratio. It would be cool to integrate historical cost data to analyze this better. ASIC pricing is tricky with so many factors involved, not just BTC's price.
Could be a problem with date ranges where we don’t have data. We’re adding limits to the start/end dates to avoid confusion. If you encounter errors, please send a screenshot next time.
Now you can export data with ALL formulas included! We also tweaked the BTC revenue calculation. Enjoy the spreadsheets and let me know if there are any math errors!
To really compete, you need to include more models. Some miners are still using older S9 ASICs.
Also, you should add Estimated ROI and MSRP to the interface. That would make it perfect!
