Need help with TRX for gas fees

Got a bit of a pickle here... I'm a freelance dev and got paid 50 USDT by a client, but I need TRX for gas fees to access it. Problem is, I'm broke and can't buy TRX right now. That link is a dead end. Got a 404 error when I tried it. I'm using Exodus wallet and now my USDT is stuck 'cause I can't send it without TRX.

I doubt a decentralized wallet that offers free gas exists. The OP has USDT on a DEX wallet, so my advice is to ask the client for some TRX to cover the fees and then deduct it from their payment. You guys already trust each other, right?

Honestly, your best bet is to just buy TRX from an exchange. Faucets are pretty much useless nowadays, and you won’t get 12 TRX from them anytime soon. Also, sending USDT on Tron shouldn’t cost 12 TRX for fees, or so I hear.

What I meant was, the gas-free feature in that article is helpful. It’s not completely free, but you don’t need other coins for gas. I’ve used Trust Wallet before, and they actually do sponsor gas fees.

Maybe the OP just needs the 12 TRX to cover the gas and not figuring out how to use the gas-free feature. Just saying, scammers usually throw around big amounts like 50 USDT to lure folks in.

For sure, less than that actually. Sending USDT on Tron requires about 345 Bandwidth (that’s free) and 64,285 Energy. If you don’t have enough TRX staked, you’ll need to burn some. Currently, it costs about 0.0001 TRX per energy unit, so it’s about 6.43 TRX for a USDT transaction.

Forget about faucets or anything else, just buy directly from a centralized exchange. Seriously, 12 TRX is a lot for a faucet, and you won’t lose much buying it for fees compared to what you’re earning.

Tron should really look at what BSC does with their low validator count. They could enforce lower fees, but it seems like they just want to maximize profit.
