So Michael Saylor just announced he's selling some of MicroStrategy's Bitcoin. A lot of folks are saying it's a sign of weakness or that he's just trying to cash out after hyping up BTC for so long. But hey, he's been a major player in getting institutions into crypto. Should we really throw shade at him?

Honestly, Saylor's more like Bitcoin's biggest flop. Dude lost over $10 billion in borrowed cash. That's insane, even worse than FTX and Mt. Gox combined.
Wait, he lost $10 billion? That’s wild. Like, how did it even get to this point? 🤯

Right? You’d think he'd be the brokest guy ever with those numbers.
Eh, whatever. At least he’s not doing as bad as Dish Network, they just filed for bankruptcy with like $25 billion in losses.
Come on, let’s not feel too sorry for him. People knew the risks with Saylor’s strategy long before this, and he’s free to do what he wants. Just because some people criticized him doesn’t mean he’s pitiable.

I get that, but it’s not just about risks. It’s the deception too. He’s been preaching about ‘never selling Bitcoin’ while now he’s doing just that. If he was upfront, maybe folks would cut him some slack.

But he borrowed that money, so it’s not really ‘his’ to begin with.
True, and even after he sold 3.5k BTC for $216 million, the preferred stock is still underperforming. That’s gotta hurt.
I’m not worried; the bull market will return. We’ll see those losses turn into gains. Right now, Saylor is not a failure in my eyes. MicroStrategy can still grow, they just need to be smarter about buying.

I mean, I don’t really care what Saylor does. He can sell his BTC if he wants, but people are mad because he shouldn’t have been talking about not selling in the first place. What’s his actual contribution to Bitcoin? Just running an investment fund.
Yeah, calling him a failure is kinda harsh. It’s all about the market mood right now. When the bull run hits, perceptions will change.
For crying out loud, you made me think he got attacked or something! Your title needs to be clearer next time.
Exactly! Unrealized losses can disappear fast. I’ve seen it happen, not on a massive scale but still.
People can say whatever. MicroStrategy will do what they think is best. The crypto market is open for anyone to buy and sell, so why should they care?

I mean, can we just talk about how basic grammar is? Names should be capitalized, and isn’t there enough chatter about Saylor already?
Is this really necessary though? Saylor's business model has been critiqued for ages. If he were in any other industry, it would be the same.

People should’ve known he’s in it for profit. Any investment in crypto is about making money. Reactions are a bit over the top.

What Saylor is doing is pretty standard for a corporate Treasury. Using Bitcoin to balance reserves and manage debts is normal. Why all the hate?
Honestly, I’ve called out other financial institutions too. Strategy knew what they were getting into. Plans fail sometimes.
