Issues Restoring Wallet in Bitcoin Core

Hey, just got the latest Bitcoin Core and the indexing took like half an hour. I tried importing my old wallet.dat by just copying it into the bitcoin folder, and also used the restore wallet option. But when I try to open it, the wallet field keeps flashing green, kinda like when it's processing updates. What’s up with that?

Same here! Took a bit but it did finally restore after waiting for a while. Just needed some patience, I guess. 😊

For anyone looking into this, moving a wallet.dat from one setup to another normally makes it scan the whole blockchain for transactions tied to that wallet. If your machine is older or slow, expect some waiting time. Just a heads up! -Dave

It’d be awesome if we could just stop the rescan if the wallet is already synced. Like that abortrescan RPC call in terminal. I haven’t used the GUI in ages, but I checked and looks like they shot down that feature request since not enough people asked for it. Kinda lame.
