Hey everyone,
I just saw some news claiming that the SEC isn't focusing on crypto for 2026 anymore. Can anyone confirm if this is real or just some hype? I'm scratching my head over whether this is a good or bad thing for crypto enthusiasts.
Is the SEC Really Ignoring Crypto Until 2026?

I think there’s something to it. News sites like Coinfomania and Reuters are reporting it. It looks like the SEC sees crypto as less of a risk now. I mean, they used to be all over it, especially under Gensler. So this shift might mean the market is maturing. More confidence for investors, right?
Not so fast. Just because they’re backing off doesn’t mean they’ll let crypto run wild. What about privacy issues? Are they gonna treat it as a right or just another way to track us? They might still want control over everything.
I feel you on that. If the SEC is really stepping back, it could open doors for crypto companies. It’s a chance for growth, but yeah, their overall intentions are still murky. I wouldn’t be shocked if it’s just political maneuvering. Too early to tell how this will play out.
Thanks for breaking it down! I appreciate the insights. However, I still think the government’s involvement usually leads to more restrictions. They love to throw regulations at us instead of clarity. Just seems like they want to control the narrative.
Check this SEC event coming up in 2025. They’re hosting a roundtable focusing on financial surveillance and privacy. Sounds fishy to me. Why are they suddenly interested in discussing these topics now?
