Looks like Iran is trying to play nice, calling the toll fee an environmental protection fee now. Sounds like a cover-up to me. Could this be a step towards a peace deal? But what about the real costs?

If this environmental fee is just a name change from the toll, then it's basically the same thing. And I bet they want this paid in US dollars. Still, it could help ease tensions a bit.

Changing the name from toll to fee doesn’t change the fact they want to charge ships passing through. The U.S. is likely gonna reject this whole idea.
