Totally agree. It feels like we're all about money and not the system's integrity. A skilled attacker might test the network before getting caught.

But if the upgrade requires both ECDSA and quantum signatures and someone lost their keys... wouldn't a quantum computer still access those wallets?

Yeah, it could crack the private keys but not the seed. That’s where it gets tricky.
