With all those high duties and penalties, are you guys declaring lower amounts for miners from China? What happens if customs catches you?
How to Handle Importing Miners from China

Honestly, keeping the authorities outta your business is key. Mining margins are already tight, and yeah, those duties cut deep, but it's a one-time fee. Just amortize it with your mining profits over time.
Trying to lie about the number of miners? That's a one-way ticket to more penalties if they figure it out. Don't even think about cheating the system... unless you're in a place with chill customs, then maybe.
So asking if you'll commit a crime won't lead to any honest replies.
I get taxed 25-35% when I order from Bitmain directly. Just gotta factor that in.
Right? Lots of folks probably hide the total value to dodge higher duties.

Nah, you got it wrong! You can't just guess the value. The exporter decides it for customs. They won't risk their business by helping you cheat.
Exactly! Most of us play it straight and no one reputable will help you fake shipment values. Getting caught means serious consequences for them.

Thanks for clearing that up. I'm kinda new to this, just heard some shipping agents do stuff differently. Got confused, but yeah, sticking to the rules seems right.
If taxes are that high, maybe importing isn't the move for you. Lying about values will just lead to more trouble. Is it worth risking jail time over some cash?
That's called smuggling, and most countries are not a fan of that...
Get your values right, or customs will hit you with VAT, additional fees, or even seize your stuff. Declare correctly and add it to your mining costs. If mining ain't profitable, don’t even bother.

Jail time for under-declaring? Really? In which country does that happen? I get the penalties, but imagine getting locked up for a typo in a customs form, ridiculous.
Not sure how it works everywhere, but it’s best to follow local laws to stay out of trouble.

Want to cut those import fees? Try buying locally. Look for used hardware or even new at good prices. Maybe contact the manufacturer about setting up locally or assembling parts here.

Any legit seller from China has the amount and tariff class declared in their papers. You can’t really change that. I doubt many would risk their business to falsify anything.

Exactly. Customs checks the declared value to figure out taxes. In bulk orders, some sellers might ask you to handle customs yourself, depending on the deal.
